                                                                                      January 10, 2022

Dear First Grade Parents,

This Thursday the First Graders will be taking the Math midyear Map test. This test will be online and will take the students about an hour and a half.  Since they will be doing a lot of Math that day, I am only going to assign reading homework. There will be no Math homework on Thursday.

This week the class begins studying Jesus’ life and early ministry.  The first semester we studied the stories from the Old Testament, from now on we will be studying stories from the New Testament. In Science we are starting a new chapter on Mammals.  In Social Studies we are finishing up our unit on careers. This week we will be talking about businesses. We are going to visit a pretend doughnut shop to find out how it operates, and discuss its expenses and profits.

Next Friday the 21st is the Education Fair.  First Graders are not required to participate in the Education Fair.  We will however, be visiting the Education Fair during the school day so students can see all the projects. We will also be visiting the 4th Grade class to see their projects, and find out how to do a science experiment and put together a Science Fair project.

Stay warm and may God bless your week!

                                                          Sincerely,

                                                          Mrs. Wallschlaeger
