                                                            Wallschlaeger Weekly

Dear First Grade Parents,                                                                        September 13, 202

For those families who are new to Immanuel, I would like to explain the t-shirt that came home with your child last Friday. The t-shirt can be worn on Fridays (but not required) and on field trips.  The t-shirt has our theme on the back of the shirt for this year. “Jesus is our Superhero”. The theme will be used during chapel talks all year. The Bible verse on the shirt also reminds us that Jesus did not come into this world to condemn it but to save it. Jesus is our Superhero, our Savior and Friend.

This week in Language we will be studying verbs and predicates.  In Spelling we will be studying when to put an s on the end of a verb. Our Spelling list is all verbs, sone with an s and some without.  This week in Bible Class will be studying Moses and the exodus from Egypt.  In Science we continue studying things in nature, and in Social Studies we begin the study of different kinds of communities.

This week and next week, students will be taking a map test.  The test will be this Thursday and next Thursday.  Each test will be about an hour and a half.  This test will give us an idea where your child is at the beginning of the year. It will help to know what areas we will need to work on. At the end of the year the students will take the test again to find our where they are at the end of the year.

May God bless you. I hope you have a great week!                                                                                                                          Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                        Mrs. Wallschlaeger
