6th Grade Newsletter

Dear parents,
I almost hate to say it, but I think we may actually have a healthy class once again! We’ve had two days in a row with everyone here! This is certainly a busy time of year, so I will try to quickly fill you in on the latest.
End of the Quarter & Celebration
It’s hard to believe, but Friday marks the end of third quarter. Report cards will be sent home next Friday, March 13. The students have reached (and exceeded!) their 50-point goal, so will be celebrating Friday at the end of the day with some board game time. The students are welcome to bring a snack to share with the rest of the class, but they do not need to do so.
Auction
Tomorrow evening is the auction! The event will be at the Wool Warehouse in downtown Albuquerque and the silent auction begins at 5:00 pm and dinner at 6:30 pm with the live auction and dancing following. Please plan on joining us for a fun-filled, luau-themed evening. On-site child care is available! Tickets are on sale now in the office. Money raised will go towards the purchase of computers, tablets, and textbooks.
Talent Show
The Annual ILS Talent Show will be on Friday, March 20 beginning at 6:30 pm. The 8th graders will be fixing Frito Pie before the show as a fundraiser for their trip. If your child would like to perform, they will need to fill out a form and return it to Mr. Pflieger next week.
ITBS Testing
We will be testing during the week of March 23-27, which is the week before Spring Break. Most of the testing should take place in the morning. Please try to avoid appoints and absences during this time.
Yearbooks
Be sure to order your yearbook soon! Just go to www.treering.com/validate and enter our school’s passcode: 1013410721291064. Yearbooks are $14.00 plus tax and include two pages that you can customize.
Registration
Don’t forget to register for next year before the end of the school year to receive $50 off your registration fees! Details in the office.
Remind
Don’t miss out on 6th Grade announcements and reminders! Even if you are already signed up for the school Remind account, you will want to sign up for our classroom group. Just text @ils6t to 81010. It’s that easy!
