What do you love about teaching at Immanuel?
Immanuel is filled with caring students, parents, and teachers. Jesus is evident in every classroom. What a blessing it is to be able to talk about Jesus every day. I also love that Immanuel’s staff is filled with caring Christian teachers who really support me in my vocation and my faith walk.
Why did you decide to become a teacher?
I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a teacher. As far back as I can remember, I was “playing” school with my toys and siblings. Teaching runs in my family; we have generations of teachers. It has always been a part of who I am. I have always loved school and learning.
What is a rewarding experience from the past year?
My most rewarding experiences are always directing the Christmas programs and Spring musicals. Both are excellent opportunities to proclaim the saving Gospel message in a unique way. It always feels gratifying when I have placed a student in a certain role because I know he/she is perfect for it, and then to receive many comments on how well he/she did.
