Dear First Grade Parents,
Last Friday the class was invited to bring in their favorite or their most interesting rocks to show and tell. Only two students remembered their rocks and everyone else wanted to wait until Monday to bring them in. I postponed the rock display until this Monday so whoever is interested can bring their rocks in on Monday. The rocks will be displayed throughout the day and each student can talk about their rocks. Our rock show and tell will be tomorrow.
In Science we will be studying the digestive system and talking about foods that keep us healthy. In Social Studies will begin the study of maps and work on mapping skills. In Bible Class we are studying some of the parables of Jesus and talking about their meanings as they relate to the Kingdom of Heaven. We will be studying the lost coin, the lost sheep, and the parable of the Prodigal Son. Memory this week relates to our Bible stories and it reminds us that we are all lost and in need of a Savior.
At the end of May there will be an entire school art show in the gym. Every class will have art displayed. Right now the First Graders are getting their art work ready for the art show. Also in May the school is planning a mini field day in place of the Field Day at Christ Lutheran that was cancelled. More information about May events coming soon.
May you have a blessed week!
