Dear First Grade Parents,
This week the First Graders will be working on their parts for Chapel. Parents, you are invited this Wednesday to join us for Chapel. Chapel starts at 10:35 in the gym. Please come and join us if you can.
Last week for Lutheran Schools’ week, students made cards and a hug for their grandparents. I sent home two envelopes with your child. If possible, you can deliver the envelope in person or you can mail the envelope to the grandparents. If you have any questions about the project you can send me an email.
This week’s spelling words are all compound words. I would like to spend an extra week studying them. Instead of 10 words students have 20 words to study. I thought that giving them an extra week would help them prepare for the test. We will start this week on the list and the test will be the Thursday after we get back from Spring Break.
In Science we have been studying the properties of Matter. We’ve studied the properties of solids and liquids. This week we will finish the last lesson on the properties of gas. We will also be making flying contraptions and seeing which ones fly the farthest.
I want to thank all of you parents for helping your child with homework and making sure that it gets returned. I’ve had very little trouble with students not returning their homework. It makes it easier for me to get homework graded and returned. Thanks!
Next week we will be on Spring Break. I hope you have an enjoyable and restful break. God be with you and keep you safe!
