A letter with your re-enrollment form, enrollment contract, and 2017-2018 calendar will be mailed home soon. These forms are due back by Friday, March 31 in order to ensure that your child has a spot reserved for next year. This information is also helpful for us in ordering curriculum materials and planning for our budget next year. After March 31 we will have an open enrollment period.
You should have received a parent survey this week at your parent teacher conference. The parent surveys can be returned to the school office or your classroom teacher. The survey will also be available on the website.
Immanuel Lenten Services
During the Lenten Season Immanuel has Lenten Services every Wednesday evening starting at 7:00. Services will be led by Pastor Boykin who serves as the assistant pastor at Prince of Peace in Cedar Crest. His sermons during Lent will focus on the sacrament of communion and the wondrous gift we have received through this sacrament. The service is preceded by a light supper that is served from 5:15-6:15 and followed by a hymn sing from 6:45-7:00. All ILS families are invited to join us.
National Lutheran Schools Accreditation
We are starting preparations to go through the accreditation process during the 2017-2018 school year. As a part of that process we will be reviewing and assessing all aspects of the school program. There are seven separate areas we will evaluate and rate. We are in need of parents to serve on subcommittees or the steering committee for this process. If you would be interested in serving please contact Mr. Angell at email@example.com.
Spring Break is just around the corner. This year Spring Break for all ILS and preschool students is scheduled for the week of March 20-24. There will be no school or preschool from Saturday, March 18 through Sunday, March 26. Classes resume Monday, March 27.
During the week of April 3-7 we will be administering the Iowa Test of Basic Skills to all ILS students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Please try and avoid dental or doctor’s appointments that week. We would also encourage parents to make sure that during that week their child gets plenty of rest and a good breakfast before coming to school. We want all of our students to do well. If you have any questions speak with your classroom teacher.
