We want to recognize and congratulate some of our ILS alumni who glorified God and distinguished themselves in May.

Cassidy Cox was selected to light the flame for start of the New Mexico Games after being selected athlete of the year.

Mary Tieh participated in the 5A state track meet as a member of an Albuquerque High relay team.

Tim Dykhuis finished 1st in javelin in the district track meet and finished 6th at the 3A state competing for Hope Christian.

At the 3A state track meet, Christian Root finished 6th in the 300 m hurdles and ran on two relay teams for Hope Christian: 4×100 – 6th and 4×200 – 2nd.

Jason Atencio won pole vault and was high-point athlete at the district track meet. He also won the pole vault at 3A state meet with a vault of 14 feet- highest in the state. Jason competed for Hope Christian.

Alejandro Goldston participated in the 5A state track meet, where he finished 6th in the triple jump and ran on two relay teams for Volcano Vista: 4×100 – 2nd, 4×200 – 1st.

Finally, Gabe Aragon participated in the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track Championships, where he won the 800 m competing for the University of New Mexico; the men’s team won the meet. Gabe also won the 800 m at the Mountain West Indoor Championships earlier this year; the team also won that meet.
